ancient paths austin
israel trip 2024

Are you interested in hiking throughout the stunning land of Israel and taking a deep-dive through the scriptures as you go? David and Kim Hall of All Saints Austin will lead you in an intensive study trip through less-travelled places of the Holy Land. Many miles will be logged with your feet as you walk the historical and cultural ancient settings of the Bible.

"Sojourn in this land, and I will be with you and will bless you...." (Genesis 26).

This trip will engage with Yahweh's unfolding story in light of ancient near eastern history. The scriptures will come to life as you walk in the paths of Israel's patriarchs; her judges and kings; prophets and priests—and Yeshua—her Good Shepherd and Messiah.

"And I will set up over them one shepherd, my servant David, and he shall feed them: he shall feed them and be their shepherd. And I, the Lord, will be their God, and my servant David shall be prince among them. I am the Lord; I have spoken" (Ezekiel 34).

The Ancient Paths Austin study trip will use a rabbinical approach to walking and studying the text. A typical day will begin with an early breakfast and a full day of hiking the four corners of Israel, with teaching and discussion throughout. We will return to our hotel for dinner and free time to relax, or enjoy the property or the surrounding area.

Our modern western lives tempt us with the idea that we are in control, but in reality, none of us knows what the future holds. Each day of this trip will present an opportunity to learn, grow, and trust—not knowing exactly what is around the corner. So come walk with us as we turn our faces to God and learn to walk in the way of his beloved son, Jesus.

"And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, 'This is the way, walk in it'" (Isaiah 30).

Ancient Paths GTI trip to Israel 2020 preview

Kim and David Hall walked the ancient paths of Israel in 2018 and fell deeply in love with the land of the scriptures. They returned in 2022 with their son, Titus (21), whose life was profoundly changed by the experience. It's been said that the land of Israel is the 'fifth' gospel, and the Halls agree! Walking the ancient paths where Abraham, Moses, Joshua, David, Elijah, John the Baptist, and Jesus travelled with his disciples truly does bring the entire Bible to life.

The Halls were reluctant to do a "typical" tour of Israel and so the rabbinical method of moving across the land—walking Yahweh's story—engaged all their body, heart, mind, and spirit. It was a win-win, and they hope all that for those who walk the land with them.

Kim has taught the scriptures from the ancient near eastern worldview for many years, while David has been employed as a Special Agent with the FBI. They both love trekking the outdoors and providing tangible ways for others to know and love their Creator.

They are excited to return to the Land in 2024.
